In 1993 Gary Stone, a resident of Idaho with an avid interest in the Oregon Trail, traveled the trail painting scenes throughout Idaho and other locations that documented the places and experiences as seen through the eyes of the pioneers.  He paired his paintings with diary abstracts to create a memorable journey on the Oregon Trail.
