JOHN FLORA (JOSEPH4, JACOB3, JOSEPH J. FLORY2 SR, UNKNOWN1 FLORA) was born 1787, and died 1854.  He married SUSANNAH IKENBERRY 24 Jun 1808 in Franklin Co, VA.

John Flora married Susannah Ikenberry June 24, 1888.  They lived where Ed Kinsey now lives (1951).  This farm changed hands several times and came back into the Flora family when Abraham I. Flora, his grandson, purchased it.  Then it was owned by Frank Flora and now it is in the possession of his son-in-law, Ed Kinsey.  They were buried in the cemetery near the Minnich filling station.  His wife was raised on the farm just east, the Samuel Ikenberry, Sr's. estate.  Brethern--Farmer--Boone Mill, VA.  

The Last Will and Testament of John Flora--
  In the name of God, Amen--I, John Flora of Franklin County and State of Virginia, being weak of body, but of disposing mind and memory wishing to dispose of such things as it had pleased Bod to help me with--this my last will and testament in the following manner to wit (1) I desire my body to be buried in a Christian manner. (2) I will and bequeath to my son, Jacob J. Flora, the following tracts of land to wit--the tract I now live on containing 186 acres, also one other tract of eight and three quarters acres, being the same land bought of son, Samuel Flora, and also the tract of 53 acres willed to me by my father Joseph Flora including thirty acres taken off the copet tract, to him and his heirs forever for the price of eleven hundred dollars, to which sum I have taken his bond for together with those I hold against sons, Isaac Flora, Samuel Flora and Abraham Flora to be paid without interest.  The balance of my estate I wish to divide between my sons and daughters so that my son Samuel get one sixth part, my son Isaac, on sixth part, Abraham one sixth part and Jacob one sixth part, my daughter, Fanny Peters, one sixth part and my daughter Sallie Bowman, one sixth part.  I appoint sons Isaac, Abraham and Jacob executors of this last will and testament who are to take management of my estate without giving bond or security, is witness and seal, July 11, 1854.
