This was a station located about two miles N of Silverton. It was established by James Down, a native of Saltash, Devonshire, England who settled in the area in 1864. He engaged in the hop and grain business prior to his death on May 28, 1898. [see Down's "A History of the Silverton County, chapter XXII]
