Located on the North Santiam River about eight miles east of Mill City. After the railroad was built through there in 1889, it was believed that the narrow gorge, only five feet wide at one point, would be an excellent waterpower site. A masonry dam was built but stream flow and maintenance problems caused closure by 1912. As of 1990, a pleasant Marion County Park is located there.
