Located north of Keizer, Waconda was originally a station for the Oregon Electric Railway. It was named when the railway was built about 1907. The post office was established in 1912. The community was originally located at the point where present day Pacific Hwy East is crossed by the old road from Parkersville to St. Louis. Today the area is primarily a farming community.
